Astro-Physics designed Guider Bracket greatly expands the versatility and functionality of the Baader 10 x 60 Vario-Finder Scope.  By removing the Finder Scope’s 45° prism and reticle-eyepiece and substituting T-2 extension tubes, the finder transforms into a straight-through guidescope.  The unique Guider Bracket provides the robust, flexure-free structure to hold even the heaviest guide cameras.   Whether you use a feather-light camera, such as the SBIG ST-i, QHY5L-II and Starlight Xpress Lodestar, or a heavy-weight, such as the SBIG SG-4, this Guider Bracket will help you master autoguiding.

Vario-Finder and Guider Bracket Kit Includes

  • 10 x 60 Baader Vario-Finder, includes the Finder's 45° erecting prism and reticle eyepiece for use as a finder.
  • 10 x 60 Quick Release Guider Bracket (S1060QRGB)
  • T-2 Extension Tubes - 40 mm (BP25B) and 15 mm (BP25A)

In order to attach the Guider Kit to your telescope you must also purchase one of the following, described below: QRBASEG, QRHANDLE, ACSD07 with SBV08, or SB0800

Important note: The Vario-Finder Guider Kit also includes the 45° prism and reticle-eyepiece which allows you to use the guider as a finder! Simply remove the rear ring of the guider bracket (a single screw secures it) when making the switch.

Mounting Options

Base for 10 x 60 Quick Release Guider Bracket (QRBASEG)

The QRBASEG option is appropriate for telescopes with finder bracket holes near the focuser. This is the recommended attachment method so that guiding will follow your scope’s movement, not that of the scope’s rings and mounting plate. Your scope must have predrilled holes on the tube or focuser to attach this base.

The photo below shows the SBIG ST-i used as a guide camera. It is a very light weight camera configuration.

Handle with Dovetail Slot for Guidescope and Finder Brackets, STARFMD & PICQRM2. For 6.3" ring spacing and 1/4-20 threaded holes. (QRHANDLE)

The QRHANDLE is ideal for smaller scopes like the 92 Stowaway, 110GTX, 130GTX or any scope with rings that are spaced 6.3" apart. Use the handle to carry your scope to the mount, then slip the bottom rail of the guider bracket into the dovetail slot. Two functions in one!

7" V-Style Light-Weight Dovetail Accessory Saddle (ACSD07) with 8" Vixen-Style Dovetail Sliding Bar (SBV08)

You may also consider the ACSD07 and SBV08 combo for the top of the mounting rings of your smaller refractor like the Stowaway or 110GTX. The bottom rail of the guider rings attaches to the SBV08 which then slides into accessory saddle plate. The rings must be spaced 6.3" apart, have a flat top surface and a center 1/4-20 hole in each ring. This combination allows you to attach other accessories to the SBV08, if you choose.

See this link for the attachment hole pattern.
