- Coarse focusing is provided by the sliding draw tube (35 mm travel), and fine focusing is performed using the threaded objective cell with lens-locking ring (12 mm travel).

The Vario Finder system is unique in that it utilizes a high quality 2-element Zeiss designed objective and an interchangeable T-2 accessory system that will allow the included 45° prism to be switched with user-provided 90° prisms, or used in a straight-through configuration. Because of the exceptional quality of the optics, this finder will also be able to be used as a guide scope employing a variety of new 3rd party guide cameras with the addition of several accessories produced by Astro-Physics.
This finder assembly includes an Astro-Physics custom bracket for mounting in our Quick Release Base (QRBASEM) or previous base that you may have purchased in the past. The bracket slides into the dovetail base and then tightens quickly with two thumbscrews. This provides a secure and repeatable method of attachment. A Baader tripod dovetail adapter is also included with the finder. The nylon alignment screws provide a quick and easy way to align your finder without marring its finish.

Mounting Options
This 1060VQ slips into the groove of the base, handle or bar you have selected from the choices below and lightens quickly with two thumbscrews. Very quick and easy. There are no mounting screws to get lost in the grass or snow and your fingers won't freeze as you struggle with tools.
Quick Release Base (QRBASEM)
The QRBASEM option is appropriate for telescopes with finder bracket holes near the focuser. This is the recommended attachment method for scopes 130mm or larger. Your scope must have predrilled holes on the tube or focuser to attach this base. You may also use a previous version of the base if you have it: QRBASE, QRBASES, QRBASES-A, QRBASED.
You may want to consider purchasing extra bases that you can mount permanently on the opposite side of your scope or another telescope. This will allow you to use the same bracket and finder interchangeably. Now you can attach and detach your finder in seconds while retaining the alignment.
Handle with Dovetail Slot for Guidescope and Finder Brackets, STARFMD & PICQRM2. For 6.3" ring spacing and 1/4-20 threaded holes. (QRHANDLE)
The QRHANDLE is ideal for smaller scopes like the 92 Stowaway, 110GTX, 130GTX or any scope with rings that are spaced 6.3" apart, have a flat top and center 1/4-20 hole in each ring. Use the handle to carry your scope to the mount, then slip the bottom rail of the finder bracket into the dovetail slot. Two functions in one!
7" V-Style Light-Weight Dovetail Accessory Saddle (ACSD07) with 8" Vixen-Style Dovetail Sliding Bar (SBV08)
You may also consider the ACSD07 and SBV08 combo for the top of the mounting rings of your smaller refractor like the Stowaway or 110GTX. The bottom rail of the finder bracket attaches to the SBV08 which then slides into accessory saddle plate. The rings must be spaced 6.3" apart, have a flat top surface and a center 1/4-20 hole in each ring. This combination allows you to attach other accessories to the SBV08, if you choose.
