2.7" Prime Focus Field Flattener for 130 f/6.3 StarFire GT with Original 2.7" Focuser (13027FF-GT)
Brand : Astro-Physics
- SKU:
- 13027FF-GT
December 2022 - This field flattener was introduced to optimize performance of the 130 f6.3 StarFire GT with its original 2.7" focuser. If your GT refractor was upgraded to the 3.5" focuser, you will need 13035FF-2.
Field flatteners are designed to accurately compensate for the inherent field curvature of a refractor lens. For each lens design there is an optimal spacing that works best for sharp focus over the specified field size. As camera designs have advanced, the performance requirements have become more stringent. This is now especially important when using the newest CMOS cameras with pixel sizes of 3.76 microns and smaller. For this reason, 67PF562 has been replaced by this new design. However, if your camera has larger pixels, the 67PF562 will perform very well.
The backfocus spacing for these flatteners (as measured from the rear flange) is 3.4" +/- 1/10" (86.4 mm +/- 2.5 mm).
The bayonet male thread size at the rear is 3.725" x 24.
Use the bayonet locking ring to secure your camera into position after you have framed your image. This allows you to rotate the camera to achieve your desired composition.
